The Sims 25th birthday special collection for the cult game The Sims is released
On 31 January, computer games giant Electronic Arts (EA) announced that two popular games, The Sims and The Sims 2, will be re-released to celebrate the 25th birthday of The Sims franchise. Both games will be offered together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle, as well as separately as The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection.

According to EA, players will have the opportunity to play with familiar characters, sounds and music that have contributed to the life simulation genre. "The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle will be priced at USD 39.99 and is available from 31 January for Windows 10 and 11 operating systems, via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.
"The Sims: Legacy Collection includes The Sims game along with additional content, including several expansions, while The Sims 2: Legacy Collection offers The Sims 2 along with a host of additional components such as The Sims 2: University and The Sims 2: Nightlife.
This new release comes at a time when The Sims 4, the latest version of the franchise, is also celebrating its 10th birthday. EA has announced that it plans to continue to develop this game and other Sims projects and is taking its time to develop The Sims 5.
By bringing back the original games, EA aims to satisfy gamers' nostalgia and give new generations the chance to experience what made The Sims such a popular franchise.
