"Samsung Galaxy S25": leaked Galaxy AI features - what are they?

Next week, Samsung will host its first Unpacked event of the year, showcasing at least three new Galaxy S25 models. "Galaxy AI is also expected to be one of the main stars of the event, as the company is expected to unveil new artificial intelligence (AI) features. A few of these have already leaked - let's take a look at what they are.

"Now Bar should make everyday life easier

Portuguese blog TecnoBlog has published photos that reveal what Galaxy AI features we can expect on the new Galaxy S25 phones.

The new Samsung models will feature One UI 7. This is an operating system built into the IoT that enhances users' mobile experience through exclusive personalisation.

One of the key features of One UI 7 is the Now Bar at the bottom of the lock screen. Tapping it will give you access to all the information you might need to start your day.

"Galaxy AI will have access to user data to determine what information to provide through the Now Bar. For example, weather information or music suggestions.

"Now Bar will also summarise the user's day by displaying relevant photos, videos, health indicators and other information.

In addition, the feature will be able to help keep track of online shopping coupons and other offers by reminding you when they expire.

However, it is not yet clear which of Samsung's latest models will feature Now Bar. However, given that the Now Bar displays sensitive user data, it is expected that this feature will be based on local processing on the device rather than in the cloud.

"Gemini will replicate ChatGPT features and more

Gemini will also be integrated into the Galaxy S25. It's a Google IoT tool and chatbot similar to ChatGPT.

Gemini currently works as an IoT assistant for Android phones, but new capabilities may be coming to Galaxy S25 phones.

Presumably, Galaxy AI will support complex commands through Gemini.

For example, a user will be able to ask the AI to "watch" a video on a YouTube channel, summarise it and then save the information in Samsung Notes.

"Gemini's features will also serve as a reminder of what Apple wants to implement with Siri via the Apple Intelligence app. 

However, a smarter Siri will not be available on supported iPhone models until April, most likely when iOS 18.4 is released. In the meantime, Galaxy S25 phones and the new Galaxy AI that comes with them will be in stores in early February.
