Accusations spread on Reddit
Some Reddit users are suggesting that Musk, who is focusing heavily on AI, may be using information from government agencies to train his AI models.
This accusation comes as Musk-controlled DOGE is taking strict measures to scrutinize government spending in an effort to curb waste of public funds.
Seeking a monopoly in the field of AI?
Musk worked with AI companies long before he became the head of DOGE.
After buying X, he quickly launched Grok, an AI image generator that now competes with huge platforms like ChatGPT.
After becoming the head of DOGE, Musk began requesting access to financial data from various government agencies and received authorization to inspect it.
It recently released Grok 3, which is said to be exclusively for premium X users, which could have been the basis for the accusation.
"Who will stop him? Is it illegal? What could be the purpose? Grok? xAI? What capabilities could such an AI have? So many questions, but it seems obvious. He would be stupid not to do it, wouldn't he?" reads one Reddit comment.
Some argue that Musk is seeking a monopoly on AI, which he could use however he wants, allowing him to influence large segments of the population.
Interestingly, a US court recently refused to block Musk from accessing federal agency files and firing civil servants, meaning he could have this access for a long time to come.
Ongoing struggle
The battle between Musk's Grok and other AI chatbots has been going on for some time.
The X-based Grok constantly finds ways to stand out whenever it gets the chance.
Last year, while ChatGPT experienced several disruptions, Grok emerged and became extremely popular among AI users, laying a solid foundation for its growth today.
