iOS 19: What can we expect from the big iPhone update of 2025?
Every year, Apple introduces a new version of iOS that reaches millions of users in September. Although iOS 19 hasn't been officially announced yet, the company has been hard at work on this year's major iPhone update for some time. What can we expect from this version?

iOS 19 is expected to be compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 18.
Some iOS 19 features will not be available on older models due to lack of hardware resources. However, improvements to Apple Intelligence and Siri will be available on all iPhone 16 and later models.
"iOS 19 features
The most important feature of iOS 19 so far
The goal is to make Siri truly conversational, similar to the advanced voice mode of ChatGPT today, but with the added benefit of access to all the data and history from all the iPhone and Apple services on your device.
This will be combined with further expansion of App Intents. That is, tools that allow developers to integrate Siri into their apps and allow her to perform actions within them.
Updates to the Home app
iOS 19 is expected to bring significant improvements to the Home app, HomeKit and related services. However, no current leaks or rumours specifically mention this.
This prediction is based on the fact that Apple plans to release new smart home products between 2025 and 2026.
One of them is the new Smart Home Centre. It is an affordable 7-inch tablet that will run on a customised operating system (codenamed Pebble) and have an interface similar to the StandBy feature on the iPhone. The device will support Apple Intelligence, FaceTime and integration with other Apple services, but is unlikely to have an App Store.
Apple is also likely to release a new smart indoor security camera and a smart doorbell in 2026, which will use Face ID to unlock doors.
There are also rumours of a future Apple smart home device with a moving screen on a robotic arm.
All of these products require deep integration with the iPhone and the Home app.
When will we see iOS 19?
The iOS 19 beta is expected to be released to developers after 9 June and to all iPhone users on 15 or 22 September.
