"Chevrolet unveils the fastest Corvette ever: how much will it cost?
Chevrolet will launch the Corvette ZR1 in mid-February this year, seven months after its launch, and the price has finally been announced. The most powerful Corvette of all time will reportedly be priced below almost all supercars offered in Europe and will have power well ahead of most.
January 12, 2025 10:23There will be no mid-range version
Unlike other Corvette models, the ZR1 is available in a 1LZ or 3LZ version without the mid-range 2LZ.
According to Chevrolet, the 1LZ starts at $174,995. For that price, you'll get arguably the most powerful Corvette of all time, with a twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V-8 producing an incredible 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque.
The more luxurious 3LZ starts at USD 185 995. It adds heated/ventilated seats, a front camera, four additional speakers and nicer interior materials.
For open-air driving, you'll pay an extra CZK 10,000 for the cabriolet version in any trim level. USD 10.
About the ZR1's features
"The ZR1 trim comes standard with a carbon fibre roof, carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon fibre ground effects.
As performance is key for the ZR1, both models also feature a performance data recorder to record lap times.
Given the standard characteristics of the ZR1, this model has a relatively short list of performance options.
The Carbon Fibre Aerodynamics Package costs $8495 and replaces the standard aerodynamic equipment with a much more aggressive rear wing, front panels and a larger front spoiler.
Underbody straps are also added to increase downforce.
There is also a ZTK Performance package, which technically costs USD 1 500, but comes with a carbon package. For that, you get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres and stiffer springs with a track-specific magnetic ride control system.
When will the ZR1 go into production?
Until now, Chevrolet has launched the Corvette at one price and then secretly increased the price in the first year of sales. So it would not be surprising if by the end of the ZR1's first year, the base price would be close to 200,000. The ZR1 would be priced at around USD 1.5 million by the end of the year.
"Chevrolet plans to open order registration in mid-February.
The US carmaker advises interested customers to contact their preferred Corvette dealer for ordering information.
"Production of the ZR1 at the Bowling Green plant will start sometime in the second quarter of 2025.
