"Apple" quickly changes its IoT team and promises Siri updates
Technology giant Apple has announced a leadership change to improve the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) and Siri. Kim Vorrath, who recently helped launch Vision Pro software, has been moved to Apple's AI and machine learning division and will be the principal deputy to AI chief John Giannandrea.

Apple Intelligence doesn't outperform OpenAI and Google tools
Last year at WWDC, the company presented its IoT and Apple Intelligence advances extensively, but they did not have the same impact as OpenAI's ChatGPT or Google's Gemini tool.
In addition, Apple has been slow to roll out what it has announced, with the big Siri-enabling update likely to come only after the iOS 18.4 update, which is scheduled for release in April this year.
Importantly, IoT-driven news feeds will be discontinued with iOS 18.3 following criticism that they were incorrect.
K. Vorrath has been in office for 36 years
Apple seems to want to ensure a more rigorous development of Apple's IoT by bringing Kim Vorrath, whose resume at Apple includes 36 years of work in the original iPhone software group, into the IoT team.
It also suggests that Apple may consider its IoT tools more important than Vision Pro in the future.
